IBPS PO/MT Selection Procedure: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is conducting a Common Written Examination (CRP PO/MT) for the recruitment of Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee vacancies in Public Sector Banks which will be conducted online.
The specifics of the IBPS PO/MT Selection Procedure are as follows.
Selection Process: The IBPS PO/MT selection process will be carried out in three stages, the first one is Preliminary Examination, the second stage is Main Examination & the third stage is Common Interview conducted by IBPS.
Online Examination: The examination will be conducted in two tiers i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, preliminary and main which consists of objective-type questions. Total marks of the Preliminary exam is 100 and the duration is 1 hour & total marks on the Main exam is 200 marks and the duration is 3 hours 30 minutes. There will be Negative Marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. If a question is left blank, it will not be marked negatively. All tests, excluding the English Language Test, will be offered in both English and Hindi. The adjusted scores achieved by each applicant in separate sessions (if held) will be normalized using the equi-percentile approach. Calculations will be based on scores up to two decimal points. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview.
Common Interview: Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Online Main examination for CRP- PO/MTXIIIwill thereafter be summoned for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and managed by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the support of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The total marks allotted for the Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of the CRP Main exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively. Candidates' combined final scores will be determined based on their results in CRP-PO/MT-XIII and the interview. A candidate should qualify both in the CRP and interview and be sufficiently high in merit to be shortlisted for the subsequent provisional allotment process.
Allotment: On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in the financial year 2024-25 based on the business needs of the Participating Banks and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Banks, based on merit-cum-preference keeping in mind the spirit of Govt. In the case that two or more applicants receive the same score, the merit order is determined by date of birth (the candidate older in age is put before/above the candidate younger in age), in accordance with current practice.
